Randall E. Woods
President and Chief Executive Officer

Randall E. Woods is the President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Sequel Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Woods served in the same capacity at NovaCardia prior to its acquisition by Merck & Co. Mr. Woods brings to Sequel 35 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical arena. Mr. Woods served nearly eight years as the Chief Executive Officer of Corvas International, Inc., a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company focused on cardiovascular disease and cancer. Prior to Corvas, Mr. Woods was President of Boehringer Mannheim’s US Pharmaceutical operations and spent over 20 years at Eli

Lilly & Company in sales and marketing positions. Mr. Woods served as the chairman for the advisory board of the University of California, San Diego’s Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center and is the incoming chair of the board of directors for BIOCOM, a life science industry association in Southern California. He also serves on the Board of Arena Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Woods received his Bachelor Degree in Biology and Chemistry at Ball State University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University.

Howard C. Dittrich, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer

Howard C. Dittrich, M.D., is the Chief Medical Officer of Sequel. A cardiologist with 23 years of academic and commercial experience, Dr. Dittrich was previously the Chief Medical Officer of NovaCardia. Prior to NovaCardia, Dr. Dittrich was Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Alliance Pharmaceuticals and Molecular Biosystems, Inc. During his time with these companies, Dr. Dittrich obtained FDA approval for two

cardiovascular imaging agents and completed the re-start of Phase III trials on a third drug. Dr. Dittrich maintains his academic appointment as Professor of Medicine at the UCSD School of Medicine where he has a small clinical practice.

Mark Mugerditchian
Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Product Development

Mark Mugerditchian is Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Product Development. Mr. Mugerditchian, who held the same position at NovaCardia, has 28 years of pharmaceutical management experience in Manufacturing, Project Management, and Product Development. Prior to NovaCardia, he held senior management positions at Gensia Sicor where he was responsible for NDA Product Development and Contract Manufacturing, and Dura Pharmaceuticals where he started the Project Management

function and was accountable for the company's inhaled insulin program and pharmaceutical manufacturing. He also held various manufacturing management positions at Abbott Laboratories, Key Pharmaceuticals and Fujisawa USA. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from the Graduate Institute.

Paul Chamberlin, M.D.
Vice President of Medical Development

Paul Chamberlin, M.D., is Vice President of Medical Development, a position he previously held at NovaCardia. Dr. Chamberlin has 15 years of industry and academic experience. Prior to NovaCardia, Dr. Chamberlin served in various positions at EPIX Pharmaceuticals, Inc., most recently as Executive Medical Director, developing drugs for cardiovascular, CNS, and imaging indications. Prior to his medical education and training, Dr.

Chamberlin worked in the Healthcare Practice of the management consulting firm Arthur D. Little, Inc. and prior to that, in the biotechnology division of Rhone-Poulenc-Rorer. He holds a B.A. degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.D. degree from Boston University School of Medicine.

Brian K. Farmer
Vice President of Corporate Development and Operations

Brian Farmer is Vice President of Corporate Development and Operations. Previously responsible for corporate development at NovaCardia, he has 12 years of experience in the health care industry. Prior to joining NovaCardia, Mr. Farmer was a Global Marketing Associate at Eli Lilly on the Cialis product team with responsibility for product launch and new

indications. Prior to Lilly, Mr. Farmer worked in Marketing and Sales Operations for Prudential HealthCare and in public health program management. He has a Bachelor's degree from Trinity University and an MBA from the University of Texas.
